Lake
Porto Ceresio is located on the Italian shores of the Lugano Lake (also know as Lago Ceresio), just in front of the Swiss side. The lake offers ferry cruises, motorboats and sailing boats for hire, sailing schools and races, rowing schools and clubs, beaches and two pools for kids.
Mountains and Trakking
For lovers of trekking and bushwalking, there are endless itineraries starting in Porto Ceresion or in the nearby villages. Ca’ del Monte, Grumello, Sant’Elia, Monte Orsa, Monte Piambello, Poncione di Ganna or the Cadorna Line, of WWI fame. Every season offers enjoyable but never strenuous walks, sweeping views over the lake, of the forests in seasonal colours, mushrooms and chestnut collection, and fresh and healthy.
Culture
Several important museums are to be found in the area: the Etnografik Museum of Porto Ceresio and the noticeably Fossil Museum of Besano, world famous for its rich collection of prehistoric fossils, and others collecting the art treasures of the valley. Soon to be opened is the Parco of Mount San Giorgio, listed for world heritage protection by UNESCO.
Nightlife
During the summer season the Mercatino del Venerdi’ (Friday Market) is a popular attraction for locals and visitors, with arts and crafts, street performers and food stalls. The local community frequently organizes dances and show in the piazza.

Near the villa is a large gym and football field, open to the public. Besides watersports, traking, soccer and cycling are very popular. Villa Raggio di Sole give free some bicycles available.
